German Model 1884/98 Bayonet (with sawback removed), Scabbard, and Frog
Bayonet with scabbard and leather frog. Bayonet has a single-edged, steel blade. It once had a sawback back edge, but it has been ground down as evidenced by the dropped, uneven back edge just in front of the crossguard. 2-piece wood grips. No extra decoration. Bayonet has a round button that pushes out a rectangular spring. Markings as noted below. Scabbard is all metal, blued. It is mounted in its dark leather frog with an integral belt loop at to the top.
Bayonet: "GEBR. HELLER / MARIENTHAL" (stamped on left ricasso) and "FFA.129" (stamped on right ricasso)
