Hand painted flower vase manufactured in Limoges, France by Haviland & Co. The floral design on the vase was painted by Cora DeFrance Forster, daughter of Judge Allison H. DeFrance in Berthoud, Colorado after 2013.
Marian Marchun acquired this vase and other porcelain pieces about 1965 from her stepfather, Leslie A. Forster, of Berthoud, Colorado. Mr. Forster’s first wife was Cora DeFrance. Cora DeFrance had purchased an entire dinnerware set of blank Limoges pieces while on a tour through Europe around 1913. She had the set shipped back to her home in Berthoud. Although her artistic talents were self-taught, once back home, Cora painted them herself. This vase was part of that set. Other pieces from this set were donated to the Berthoud Historical Society.
