This photograph is one of 45 photographs, 8 postcards and a silver birth cup donated to the museum by Ed Schramko Jr. in 2019. All of this material relates to Mr. Schramko's father, Edmund Aladar Schramko, who served at Camp Hale, Colorado, as a medical officer. Edmund Aladar Schramko was born in Czechoslovakia on January 29, 1906. His family emigrated to the U.S. several years later. He joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colorado in 1943, serving with the Medical Detachment of the First Battalion Headquarters of the 86th Infantry Regiment. During his military service, he attained rank of Captain. He later had a career as a medical doctor. He died in San Francisco, California on July 10, 1973.
