Wedding Dress Bodice Belonging to Martha Rockwell from 1868
White satin bodice for a wedding dress. Bodice is short with long sleeves. The front of the neckline is square shaped and the front closes with five fabric covered buttons. There is fringe at the shoulders. The jacket has a long tail at the back which also has fringe at the bottom.
Theron Rockwell Field, the donor and son of Martha (the original wearer) was the Vice President of the State Historical Society and potentially died on 7/22/1940 - unsure who would have donated on his behalf as this donation is dated for 5/1/1947. JNJ
