"There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe" ; Miniature Jointed Bisque Doll
This miniature all non-tinted bisque doll is one of a set of four attached to a woman's funky old brown leather shoe and contributing to the English fairy tale theme, "There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe". The doll has molded blond hair with painted features. She is clothed in a white cotton dress bound together with a pink silk ribbon.
This figure came to History Colorado in 1988 as part of the Bernice Lang doll collection. The object was collected by either Bernice Lang, Wilmette (Minnie) Belle Jackson (Bernice's mother), or Lindy Lou Lang, Bernice's sister or mother-in-law as an addition to their doll collection. The doll is not thought to have been used by any of the three ladies as children. No further provenance is recorded in any records obtained by History Colorado.
