Interview with Uncle Sam, White River Ute
General Note: Part of the CWA Pioneer Interviews Collection. Consists of an interview with a Ute Indian named Uncle Sam, made ca. 1934. Of note is his recollection of finding artifacts that appear to have been from the Anasazi Indians in the region in which the tribe lived. He appears to have been a chief with the Paiutes. Of note is his brief discussion of the Sun Dance and Bear Dance among the Utes and Lakota.
