Florida is for Relaxing ; Tacky Postcard
The postcard, entered in Boulders Tacky Postcard Contest in 1985, shows an alligator sitting in grass near a body of water. There is a cartoon sun looking down at the alligator and appearing to be frightened. In the lower left corner is the title "Florida is for relaxing" in yellow and white print. There is a thick green border around the edge of the image. The back of the postcard provides space for correspondence, an address, and a postage stamp. A black ink stamp from the post office shows the postcard was sent from Orlando, Florida in February of 1985.
Found in Collection, donated by Kathie Joyner in 1989. The Tacky Postcard contest ran 1979-1985.
Written on the back of the postcard in ink: "Dear Children, Wish you could be here with us. The weather has been great. We went on the Jungle Queen to the tropical Isle to see how all the rich people live. It was beautiful. Hope all is well there. Lucy, Wod had a strack I'll be going home as soon as we get back. Did Nicole get her letter?
I'd like to make this trip with all the kids: it would be great. I'll write when i get home. Take care. Lots of love to all. Love, Mother + Reece / 6-28-75 /Lucy Dawson 3374 Flamingo Wy. Denver, Colo, 80222"
