Chrystal Power Plant ; Colorado Mountain and History slides
This slide is a colored photograph of a black and white photograph taken circa 1900. The image shows a building that is perched on the edge of a river. It has some wooden structures around the top of a small waterfall. It also has a wooden ladder-shaped structure build down from the top of a cliff into the water. The inscription identifies this building as Chrystal Power Plant.
Donated by Cherry Moore in 2014. The photographs were taken by her father, Charles Moore. He was born and raised on a ranch in Eldorado Springs in 1913. He was an avid camper and mountaineer and had hiked half of Colorado's 14'ers. He joined the hiking club during his time at CU (graduated in 1934). Most of the slides are photograph dating between 1930 and 1990. Charles Moore passed away in 1994.
Written on the back of the slide in ink: "Chrystal Power Plant / 1900"
