This hand-colored sixth-plate daguerreotype of Martin P. Rively was captured by an unidentified photographer circa 1853-1858 and is housed in a brass mat and preserver in a wood and leather case. In this image the figure is wearing a white collared shirt, a grey necktie tied in a small horizontal bow, a grey vest, and dark colored jacket. Rively wears his hair long on the sides and has a full, dark beard and moustache. Part of the George W. Clayton Collection.
