Louis XVI style fauteuil armchair
Early twentieth-century Louis XVI style fauteuil armchair has carvedribbon-twist design around the circular back. Top crest has a small rosette. Open arms have fabric covers called manchettes. Arm supports are curved. Reed-style legs terminate in cylindrical feet. The needlepoint fabric back has a central cartouche depicting a woman and man beneath a tree with a lamb at her feet. The needlepoint fabric seat depicts a landscape. Needlework is done in shades of green, rose, and yellow on a beige ground.
