This is a Remington Rolling Block Military Rifle; Remington Rider. This rifle appears to be a commercial (military style) rifle made using surplus military parts. This was a common factory practice (see Flayderman p.155). At has an attached Model 1884 Springfield Rifle rear sight. The average muzzle diameter is .491.

Barrel has "B" stamped on left side of BBL flat at receiver. All three barrel bands have a "B" stamped on both sides. Lower sling swivel : "Pat ? 18??" Butt plate stamped: "36/H/13" ("h" is small with large "B" stamped over it.
