The engraving shows three Native Amercians walking through the plains gathering fire wood. The foreground shows a man partiall;y viewed holding an axe with a large bundle of wood on his back. Farther behinf him in the middleground there is a women wrapped in a large shaw with a child on her back. The third person is behind the woman also carrying a bundle on their back. To the right there are dead shrubs and an animal skull. There are hills and mountains in the background. The print is rectangular and black and white.
