Colorado Mountain and History slides
This slide is a photograph of a black and white photograph taken in 1905. It shows a group of men on foot and on horseback clearing a path to lay tracks for a railroad. They appear to be in a small valley between large tree-covered hills.
Donated by Cherry Moore in 2014. The photographs were taken by her father, Charles Moore. He was born and raised on a ranch in Eldorado Springs in 1913. He was an avid camper and mountaineer and had hiked half of Colorado's 14'ers. He joined the hiking club during his time at CU (graduated in 1934). Most of the slides are photograph dating between 1930 and 1990. Charles Moore passed away in 1994.
Written on the back of the slide in ink: "Railroad building / Moffat / 1905"
