Ammunition box attributed to Kit Carson
Black leather ammunition box has a floral pattern stamped on both edges of the front flap, as well in the center where the buckled leather closure strap is secured. One of the leather shoulder straps is unattached to the case and has a hemp string strung through the holes at the end. The strap is buckled to the other end of the shoulder strap component. The flap closure is a metal buckle.
Donated March 1929 by Oliver Perry Wiggins. According to Wiggins, the box belonged to Kit Carson.
