The connection between Ditmer Schneider and Mrs. Conrad Schneider is unclear. However both Ditmer Schneider (born in Prussia 1833) and Conrad Schneider (born in Germany (1831-1910) may have known each other before coming to the United States and may have emigrated about the same time. Conrad Schneider came to the U.S. in 1850. The donor, Mrs. Conrad Schneider, formerly Pauline Trankle 1848-1930) married Conrad in 1864.
