Cripple Creek historic landmark ; Colorado Mountain and History slides
This slide shows a plaque that commemorates Cripple Creek as a historic landmark. the plaque reads: "Cripple Creek has been designated a Registered National Historic Landmark under the provisions of the Historic Site Act of August 21, 1935. This site possesses exceptional value in commemorating and illustration the history of the United States. U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service 1963"
Donated by Cherry Moore in 2014. The photographs were taken by her father, Charles Moore. He was born and raised on a ranch in Eldorado Springs in 1913. He was an avid camper and mountaineer and had hiked half of Colorado's 14'ers. He joined the hiking club during his time at CU (graduated in 1934). Most of the slides are photograph dating between 1930 and 1990. Charles Moore passed away in 1994.
