Piece of blood-stained pillowcase that Abraham Lincoln's head alledgedly rested on in the Petersen boarding house where he died on the night of April 15, 1865.
After Lincoln had been shot in Ford's Theater in Washington D. C., on the evening of April 14th, 1865, he was carried across the street into William Petersen's boarding house and into the first-floor bedroom. He was there laid on the bed. The pillowcase this piece of fabric came from is the pillowcase that was alledgedly on the pillow where Lincoln's head rested when he died on the morning of the 15th.
