General Note: Part of the CWA Pioneer Interviews Collection. Consists of an interview of David E. Davis, an early-day resident of Stratton, Colorado. Born in 1883 in Missouri, Davis came west with his family to Tuttle, Colorado in 1886, where his father established a homestead. At the age of 13 Davis struck out on his own, becoming a ranch hand and cowboy on a large cattle ranch owned by Harry Cox. Almost all of this short interview consists of his recollections of life as a cowboy prior to 1900.
