Illustrated in the postcard in the foreground is a grey stone wall with grass boarding the road. Dense landscape is to left of the wall, there is what looks like a horse drawn "Irish Jaunting Car" on the road and opposite this vehicle is a gate probably leading to some gardens, rocks covered with green growth can be seen. In the middleground are large trees and on the left a mountain in the distance. The background is the ivy covered castle it appears to be damaged at the top, some windows can be seen and a long metal rod extends from the top of the castle. Blue sky and clouds finish the card.
