Laminated hickory ski with metal Kandahar binding also referred to as a cable or bear-trap binding. The bottom surface has metal edges and a red waxed surface. The top is painted white.
Fred Nagel served as a captain in the 126th Mountain Engineer Battalion of the 10th Mountain Division in World War II, was awarded the Bronze Star and supervised the building of the first aerial tramway to be used in combat during the battle of Riva Ridge in Italy.
