View of Benicia From the West
The river, Carquinez Strait, is the waterway that connects the Sacramento Delta to the San Francisco Bay Area (taken from the internet) can be seen from the foreground to the background. Activity on the bank as well as in the water. Men are fishing in the water, a boat sits in the water. Two men on the bank waving while a horse drawn cart on a small piece of land waits by the fishermen. Middleground to background depicts many buidings, houses, another ship, small structure with flag on pole. Mountains are very faint in distance.
