A pair of linen(?) shorts with suspenders. The legs are outlined in green with three brown, purely decorative, buttons up the side of each leg. The top hs two more buttons, with a flap attached. This flap is outlined in green, and is sewn directly onto the shorts at the bottom, but separated at the sides and top, creating a pocket through the front of the shorts. The button closure of the shorts is concealed within this pocket. There are two actual pockets, one to either side of the flap. There are two white buttons above those pockets, where a brown leather piece is attached; the bottom of the suspenders. the rest of the suspenders are green in color, and there is a middle piece with a deerk and some flowers embroidered on it that would be worn across the chest. The back of the shorts have two more white buttons where the back of the suspenders attach. There is also an extra flap, with a buckle to control the size of the shorts.
Donors: John and Molly Archibold. John wore this as a child. There is a copy of a photograph of him wearing it in the accession file. Eileen and Robert Archibold were John's parents.
