The various cliff dwellings and ruins that make up Cliff Palace make up the focus of the photo. They all sit in an opening of the canyon wall that hangs over the dwellings. There are two large pits made out of stone in the foreground. There is a patch of trees below the dwellings at the mouth of the canyon.
