Black and white Denver Post press photograph depicting an early morning candle lighting ceremony at McNichols Arena, Denver, Colorado, dated January 1, 1987. More than 6,000 people gathered to meditate and pray for global peace for twenty minutes as part of the international "World Instant of Cooperation". In the photograph, participants hold candles high in the dark stadium.
