Collection consists of photocopies of correspondence, deeds, and other material relating to the Hall brothers--Franklin, Holt, John, and Joseph. Much of the correspondence in this collection is between various brothers and their father Bolling Hall, and deals with the Halls' struggles as farmers, their descriptions of the weather, religious life, living conditions, and other topics of interest. The material in this collection was used by Dr. John Guice in writing the essay, "Alabama Planters in the Rockies", which appeared in Colorado Magazine Vol. 53 (1976), pp. 1-47. Original items in this collection are held at the Alabama Department of Archives and History. Please credit the Alabama Department of Archives and History for any use of this collection.
