Sword bayonet and scabbard. Bayonet has a long, bright steel blade with a cast brass grip and crossguard. Crossguard has reversed quillons with a muzzle ring integrated into the top one. Diagonal grooves on the right side of the grip; smooth on the left side. Very pronounced beak on the pommel. There is a spring catch but the button release is missing. Proof marks on back edge of the blade. Stamped on the left ricasso is,"GEHR. WEYERSBERG / SOLINGEN." Inscribed on the bottom of the blade are a moon and star. Inscribed on the base of the handle are Asian(?) or Arabic(?) characters. The scabbard is made of a dark-brown/black leather with tooled floral pattern on both sides. Instead of being mounted in a leather frog held closely to the user's belt, the scabbard is made to hang loosely from a belt by means of two leather straps and a large brass hook (similar to how a sword would hang). One of the leather straps is stamped with the number "82" or "92".
