Donated by his son, RC Luke Mathiesen, Robert Charles Mathiesen, DDS, collected these buttons in his youth. Mathiesen graduated from Denver's North High School in 1941, then served in World War II as a dental technician on the island of Guam. After the war, he attended dental school and made a career as a dentist at the University of Denver's Student Health Service. In his free time, Mathiesen was a Methodist Preacher, 32nd-degree Mason, Shriner, and enjoyed fly fishing.
