This 120 mm film negative was taken by David DeHarport in Agate, Colorado on June 28, 1985. It depicts the side of a brick building with an awning. A Greyhound bus logo is visible on the side of the awning. A sidewalk extends from the lower left edge of the image frame into the horizon. It is overgrown with weeds that grow on both sides of the sidewalk. A credit card advertisement that reads "Master Charge, the international card" hangs from a telephone pole in the foreground of the image. A paved road is visible on the far right side of the image. Telephone poles line both sides of the road.
David DeHarport (1921-2001) was a photographer, archaeologist, and anthropologist. Between 1937-2000, DeHarport photographed the southwestern United States, specifically focusing on Colorado and the Four Corners region. Much of his work focused on abandoned agricultural and mining towns in Colorado, as well as landscapes of the state's eastern plains. This photograph is part of the David DeHarport collection.
