This is an aircheck, which is a demonstration recording used for legal archiving or job performance reviews. Airchecks are significant in that radio hosts use them as resume and promotional materials for themselves, so represent programs important to the host and/or to the station, city of station location, or nation. This group of 22 cassettes represent around a dozen primarily Denver stations (some of which are no longer on the air) and a variety of topics, including first broadcasts and last broadcasts, and morning, midday, and late night programs.

Purchased by Colorado Historical Society by curator Stan Oliner. Listening copies will be made available for research use. We do not hold copyright to these materials so patrons who wish to use recordings for commercial or other uses must provide proof of permission from copyright holder(s) to obtain digital copies.
