The scissors were donated by L.R. Ogden on 10/02/1940 with numerous other items including a handbag, handkerchiefs, a baby bonnet, etc. The scissors are part of a collection of sewing equipment that included two other pairs of scissors.
Colorado Magazine mentions the items in this donation were pioneer relics saved and preserved by L.R. Ogden’s mother and grandmother. The scissors were handmade (by whom, remains unspecified).
