Atlantic and Pacific Tunnel was constructed under Kelso Mountain, Gray's Peak, and Ruby Mountain, a distance of five miles, along which it was anticipated to cut numerous rich veins of ore capable of returning millions to the investors. The project, located about eight miles west of Georgetown in Clear Creek County was undertaken by the Atlantic and Pacific Tunnel Company. M.M. Pomeroy was president and the offices were located in Denver. The microfilmed collection contains clippings from magazines and newspapers pertaining to the Atlantic and Pacific Tunnel Company, the Great West Mining Company, and related ventures (1880-1882).
