This is a black and white photograph of Cliff Palace in Mesa Verde National Park, Montezuma County, Colorado. The various cliff dwellings and ruins that make up Cliff Palace make up the focus of the photo. They all sit in an opening of the canyon wall that hangs over the dwellings. There are two large pits made out of stone in the foreground. There is a patch of trees below the dwellings at the mouth of the canyon. This photograph can be found on page 211 of John Fielder's Book, Colorado 1870-2000 Second Edition.
The second black & white photograph, taken by William Henry Jackson, is found on page 210 of John Fielder's book, Colorado 1870-2000 Second Edition.
