General Note: Part of the CWA Pioneer Interviews Collection. Consists of an interview of Clementina Morrison-Guthrie, an early day resident of Kit Carson County, Colorado. Born in Scotland in 1860, she and her husband came to Colorado in 1888 as a result of the murder of her husband's brother James Guthrie on a homestead near the town of Burlington. The Guthrie's had a large family, consisting eventually of 12 children. Not much biographical material is found in this document, although Guthrie does relate humorous tales of her first automobile ride on the prairie as well as the fleas that made life miserable for the first residents of the county during the summer.
