Rectangular shape, sides are rounded, top and bottom are straight. Embroidered on stiff cotton backing. Dark blue background with logo of the 10th Mountain Division: Two red crossed bayonets. Borders have white machine zig-zagged edges. Patch was approved January 7, 1944 for the 10th Mountain Infantry Division. Because it did not reflect the mountain training that the division received, a "mountain" tab was added to the top of the patch on November 21, 1944.
