Dionne Quintuplet Toddler ; Cecile ; Composition Swivel Head Doll
Dionne quintuplet doll, Cecilia, wearing original labeled clothing. Toddler. Composition swivel head with five-piece composition body. Head and limbs are attached with heavy elastic cord. Swivel head has original brown mohair wig, molded ears, painted brown brows and lower lashes, and a red closed mouth. Brown sleepy eyes are clouded. Clothing consists of a green organdy dress. Missing the gold safety pin closure. Sleeveless white organdy slip has attached pants. Green organdy bonnet has ruffled brim and narrow light green satin chin ties that finish on each side of the head. Socks are green rayon knit and shoes are white imitation leather. Two piece badge with a gold finish attached to the front collar reads "Cecile".
This doll came to History Colorado in 1988 as part of the Bernice Lang doll collection. The doll was collected by either Bernice Lang, Wilmette (Minnie) Belle Jackson (Bernice's mother), or Lindy Lou Lang, Bernice's sister or mother-in-law as an addition to their doll collection. The doll is not thought to have been used by any of the three ladies as children. No further provenance is recorded in any records obtained by History Colorado.
