Collection consists of correspondence, legal documents including research and decisions, war crimes documents, and other material related to David J. Miller, prominent Colorado attorney who was attached to the Legal Advice Branch of the United States Military Government of Occupation in Germany in the aftermath of that country's defeat following World War II. Born in Loveland, Colorado in 1906, Miller graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in 1932. Moving to Greeley, Colorado after passing the Colorado Bar, Miller established a law firm that specialized in water law. Miller later served as County Chairman for the Democratic Party for Weld County. In 1948 he was appointed to the Legal Advice Branch of the USGO in Germany, working in Bonn until his return to the United States in 1949. He thereafter continued his law practice in Greeley, where he died in 1993.
