Ah-Ne-Pitch and Tomas-cita
Studio portrait of Ute Native Americans, Ah-Ne-Pitch carrying her child Tomas-cita in a cradleboard on her back. Photographed by Rose & Hopkins during Denver's Festival of Mountain and Plain circa 1896-1899. Cradleboard made of hide with fringe and beaded details. The inscription on the bottom of the photo indicate that the woman's name is Ra-De-Da and her child's name is Pio Pinos, however other photos shot by Rose & Hopkins indicate that their names were Ah-Ne-Pitch and Tomas-cita.
Estate of Wilma S. Rose, 1986.
