Sofa or bed was transferred from Leadville Historical Association to SHS of CO February 25 1947. Found in attic of Healy House.
Sofa given by Campion sisters, an old Leadville family. John F. Campion was mining magnate in Leadville. After moving his family to Denver he became a prominent member of Denver society. He was co-founder of the Denver Museum of Natural History where his gold collection, which he donated, is on display. He was also one of the founders of the sugar beet industry in Colorado. The community of Campion, north of Denver, is named after him.
