Born in New Jersey in 1866, Lengel came to Colorado with her family in 1886. Most of the interview consists of her recollections of life on the prairie prior to the turn of the century. She also describes how her father's home was burned to the ground by a man named Munsinger after she and her father testified against him at a murder trial.
