This rucksack belonged to Donald Earl Flagg. Donald Flagg, SSG, was born Sept. 20, 1918 in Augusta, ME. He was a graduate of Boston, MA earning his BS degree in business administration. Flagg was inducted into the service Dec. 26, 1942, New Britain, CT. He was first sent to Ft. Devens, MA. After a few days he was sent to Pando in the Colorado Rockies and assigned to Company B, 86th Regiment as a first private. Attended NCO School and earned his corporal stripes. Prior to embarking overseas he was promoted to sergeant and then staff sergeant. He was discharged in December 1945.
