General Note: Part of the CWA Pioneer Interviews Collection. Consists of a biographical sketch of Nelson Pritchard, an early day resident of Mesa County, Colorado. Born in Maine in 1854, he came to Gunnison in 1880 helping to construct a narrow gauge railroad line. In 1882 he moved to Grand Junction, and established a homestead on what is today called "Pritchard Mesa." Not much biographical information is found in this document but he does relate that he helped construct the Grand Valley Ditch during the 1880s.
