Donated to History Colorado by Barry Zadikoff, owner of Barry's on Broadway, and artist Jeremiah Clark "Jher451," who created the painting.
This piece was collected as part of History Colorado’s History in the Making, documenting COVID 19:
With the state shut down in April of 2020 as a result of COVID 19, History Colorado staff began to proactively document the pandemic. On April 14, 2020 HC staff member Mark Nelson photographed Broadway Street boarded up, including Barry’s on Broadway at 58 Broadway (2020.31.6). After plywood went up, Colorado artist Jeremiah Clark "Jher451," painted a mural on the pieces (2 plywood panels) depicting a martini glass and the words “Remember to Distance Safely”. Barry generously agreed to donate the pieces after he was done using them to protect his business. Around June 1, 2020 the mural was tagged. After photo documentation of the tagged mural, the piece was repaired/reworked by the artist and then removed on August 1, 2020 and transported to History Colorado.
