Collection consists of correspondence, clippings, speeches, scrapbooks, and other material relating to Warren Armstrong Haggott. Born in Shelby County, Ohio, Haggott was educated at Xenia College, and later became a school teacher in Ohio and Texas. Moving to Colorado, Haggott became Superintendent of Schools in Idaho Springs, Colorado. Taking up the law, Haggott was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1892. In 1902 Haggott was elected Lieutenant Governor of Colorado, and a U.S. Representative in 1904. In 1911 he moved to Denver and set up his legal practice. He died in Denver in 1958. The bulk of the correspondence in this collection pertains to the controversy over the determination of the state boundaries of Colorado and New Mexico in 1908. There are also three scrapbooks of clippings (ca. 1902-1951) dealing with Hall's many personal and political interests.
