Description of content: This is a series of lectures held at the Colorado Historical Society given during Women’s History Week in the early 1980s. The lecture series was overseen by Elizabeth Jameson, who was the Director of the Research Center on Women at Loretto Heights College and was a Historian on the Colorado State Council of Carpenters Centennial History Project at the time. “Women’s History Week” was a new Congressional designation for the second week of March, beginning in 1980. These lectures – born in the second decade of second-wave feminism – shine a fascinating light on the issues Colorado women faced in this era. Titles include, “A women’s guide to her legal history,” “Feminist families: the personal politics of social change,” “Four Centuries of Dishwashing: changing roles of the American housewife,” “Who gets the children? Family law,” “Women Entrepreneurs, Unreluctant Pioneers,” and “Are we crazy? NO! They Are!”
