Donated by Mrs. Laura Chappell in March 1955. Object was purchased from Tabor Estate by donor. Supposedly belonged to Elizabeth Bonduel McCourt "Baby Doe" Tabor. She was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and moved to Colorado in 1877. After divorcing her first husband, Baby Doe married Horace Tabor, the "Silver King of Colorado," living a lavish lifestyle until the Silver Crash of 1893 when the Tabor's lost their fortune. Horace died in 1899 and Baby Doe lived in a small one room cabin at Matchless Mine in Leadville, Colorado until her death in 1935.
