Digital image of the Henderson House, located at 2600 Milwaukee Street in Denver, Colorado. View of built-in desk with phone at end of pantry hallway behind central kitchen.
This image is part of a collection of 161 photographs, taken by photographer Michael McGrath, that document the interior and exterior of the Henderson House. John R. Henderson, Colorado’s first licensed Black architect, designed this midcentury modern home for his family from 1962 to 1971. The City and County of Denver designated the Henderson House as a local historic landmark in November 2018, a few months after Henderson's death. The Henderson House is the first historic landmark in the City Park North/Skyland neighborhood and is one of the few individual landmarks acknowledging the African-American contribution to Denver’s built environment.
