Facts concerning the life of Jay J. Ross, who came into the Uncompahgre Valley four days after the Indians left
General Note: Part of the CWA Pioneer Interviews Collection. Consists of a biographical sketch of Jay Ross, an early day resident of the Uncompahgre Valley of Colorado. Born in 1864 in Michigan, Ross came to California with is family as a child. In 1880 Ross came to Colorado, and in 1881 moved to Montrose, where he worked a number of jobs over the next 40 years, including a road builder and merchant.
