Born in Italy in 1896, John Iacoponelli Sr. came to the US around 1905. In 1919 he married Camille Iacoponelli (born Muffuletto). The couple lived at 1786 Ivanhoe in Denver. Around 1919 he worked for the Works Projects Administration at 810 14th Street. In 1946 he took the Colorado Bar Examination; he attended DU law school. At the time he was living at 6005 E. Twenty-eighth Ave., Denver, Colorado. In the 1970s his law firm was in the Colorado Building. During his law practice years he worked with many families including the Guerrieri family who sought Italian veteran benefits for a family member that served in the Italian Army. Other families/cses included the Tartaglia family, Kinco Bootery, Lonardo family, Mack John's Custom Taylors, Kominek family, Yeager family, Transworld Fil, Bernard family, Romro family and D'Ansero family (an Italian WWI vet also seeing benefits from Rome). John Iacoponelli Sr. died in 1983 and is buried at Fairmount in Denver.
