; Collection consists of correspondence, diaries, notebooks and other materials relating to Nathaniel Peter Hill. A principal organizer of the Boston and Colorado Smelting Company in Black Hawk, Colorado, Hill became a leading mining entrepreneur and businessman in early day Colorado. He also served one term as a United States Senator. A portion of the correspondence in this collection has been published under title: "Nathaniel P. Hill Inspects Colorado" (Colorado Magazine, Vol. 33, no.4, October 1956; Vol. 34, nos. 1-3, Jan.-July 1957).
