Collection consists of correspondence, Christmas cards, and other material related to Joseph Verner Reed. Born in Nice, France in 1902, Reed was the son of the mining entrepreneur Verner Z. Reed. Moving to Denver in 1912 with his family, Reed graduated from Yale University in 1926. Reed later became a real estate developer in Florida, and was largely responsible for the development of Jupiter Island, Florida during the first half of the 20th century. Reed also served as a diplomat in Paris after World War II.
